Chevreau is led by a hands-on management with 50 years of combined experience in the construction industry – locally and internationally. The company only employs specialised construction teams to ensure the high standard of workmanship that Chevreau is known for, is maintained.
Mr. Chevreau, Managing Director of Chevreau Development and Construction, started his career in the construction industry over 40 years ago. As Project Manager for Longtill Construction, he managed a large housing project for the Government of Mauritius.
After relocating to South Africa, Alain was appointed as Senior Contracts Manager at Murray & Roberts. Nearly 350 staff reported to him on the various construction projects he managed, such as shopping centers, hospitals, schools, and housing.
As Chevreau’s Managing Director, Alain is responsible for the overall management of the companies in the group – from costing, tendering, to the execution of the contracts.
As Chevreau’s Contracts Director, Mr. Theron oversees and manages the majority of residential development- and construction projects for the company.
After receiving his BTech Civil Engineering degree, he started his career in 1984 as a Civil Designer at the Johannesburg City Council. After nearly twenty years in the road construction industry, Mr. Theron shifted his focus to managing commercial and residential development projects.
His international experience gained in roles such as Project Manager and Contracts Manager has given Mr. Theron excellent organisational skills. With his strong background in civil engineering, he is also a specialist in contract management and –administration, planning, and quantity surveying.
